You are not alone. I think I may actually be able to accomplish a few things off my wish list this year, if I can tear myself away from Google Plus long enough to actually do any of them and make some extra $ so I can do more of them and....(see, right there, the crux of the problem we face).

I feel like I just listened in on my own private conversations with myself.

A few years ago, I resolved to learn to play guitar. It's probably one of the best resolutions I've ever made—and kept. I also resolved to get a book of poetry published, and it will be published this year.

So resolutions are a good thing. In spite of the fact that we can't really make such huge sweeping changes in ourselves without some kind of battle (and, in the immortal words of Bruce Cockburn, "Nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight / Gotta kick at the darkness 'til it bleeds daylight"), they help us keep our eyes (and, consequently, our minds) on the prize.

A little daily affirmation never hurt anyone.

Oh hell. You're just awesome. Also, your husband is awesome and sounds awfully like mine. I kind of like when he gets furiously indignant on my behalf. Heh.

I still don't know if I can write mine for 2012. I feel... unresolved this year.
